The idea that Telkom are a monopoly and they are asking the OTT providers to give them money seems like a tall order, but truth be told there are very real issues on both sides of this argument.
Yes, Telkoms fight is legit because they cannot sustain this on other peoples work and not get anything in return. A lot of that that extra income is used to subsidise the poor areas which are a cost and not an income.
Who cares, on the other side, Telkom have held an,unfair monopoly for years and been charging a premium rate even,compared to other countries I Africa and around the world.
