GoKarting along Durban promenade with the Swannies…

I have not had this much fun in a while. Tracey and I got a serious workout on our legs, but it was so much fun. We were even racing each other. The girls were great back seat drivers, telling us to go faster and beat mom or dad, lol.

Bill Gates revealed as a secret santa?

This is a really awesome story for me on two levels.

  1. This lady was happy with being able to be the source of helping another family and not just getting a bunch of high tech gadgets.

  2. So many people are actually giving to others that they may not even know. That is loving your neighbour.

My desire this Christmas is that the world will have the giving heart of love to all people all year round, not just on Christmas.

Steve Wozniak backs a DIY computer with @raspberrypi

The Raspberry Pi has gone far and wide and this is a really great way to package the idea of creating you own computer. Awesome.

@Apple Christmas advert is pretty cool…

This is a very touching advert. If they can do all this, on an iPhone then that is pretty cool.

@RickWarren “Give Jesus your best this Christmas” We actually have a tree too…

A friend sent me the devotional below and I had to smile. We have two daughters and for the last 3 years we have made a cake and put candles on as well. This year however, as I was praying in my quiet time about a month ago God prompted me to create a big Christmas tree with a star on to with the name of Jesus on it. Below the tree are loads of different coloured boxes without any decoration on it. The idea is simple. During our family Bible ring each night before bed, I ask if anyone wants to give a gift to Jesus to put under the tree? The gift is not something you can touch but something you must give from you heart and must give to Jesus for the rest of your life. Once a person writes that gift on a box, they can then decorate it. We spend time also going over each gift as often as we can to remind ourselves what we have chosen to give Jesus this Christmas and every Christmas after this.

Anyone can do this, with your family, at work, at church at the hospital. Something like this is a beacon of hope and inspires us to be better. Habakuk 2:2-4 tells us that if we do this it will come to pass. Give a gift, not just to anyone, this Christmas give a gift to Jesus.

@Microsoft to pay @Samsung $1 billion? What does that mean?

It sounds a bit desperate, but there is more to this than meets the eye. Think about how @Microsoft bought Nokia? It started with a big cash injections through an agreement to use the @WindowsPhone OS for their phones. This then worked into more than just that and now we know that the company is bought by @Microsoft. Now @Samsung is far to big and independent a company to do the same thing, but there is also no real reason for @Samsung to bet everything on just one manufacturer. I believe that there is a much bigger plan here that would create a collaboration across all applications. If we go back to the beginning of this year, @Microsoft put out a video with their future vision of what they want to do going into the future and it involved smart appliances, smart screens, smart TV’s, smart homes. @Samsung covers a huge footprint in this arena, it makes perfect sense that @Samsung would be chosen to collaborate all their products with @Microsoft so that that vision can become a reality. Most people are just thinking phone because that is where this agreement seems to be starting, but there are a lot of other visionary ideas behind what a collaboration of these two companies could do.

@Amazon buy Gopago, but what does that mean? Mobile phone?

It may be the starting point of the @Amazon phone which has been brewing over the past year, but there are bigger things and far more further reaching possibilities based on how @Amazon embed their sales and infrastructure into their products. A payment system like this could turn the @Amazon into a new currency that is global and available in places that normal cash is not able.

Cortana is the project name and this will be a huge leap forward for the company as it will now have the opportunity to compete against the Android and iPhones of the world.

@Microsoft Roslyn project is a compiler in the cloud?

Most people may not understand why this is a massive step, but can you imagine creating programs that get compiled and deployed anywhere in the world at any time. The Roslyn Project @Microsoft is exactly that. The big question however is how will developers and developments teams take to having a compiler as a service and how much will this change the cost of developing.

Nelson Mandela statue raised in Pretoria, but will it bring the desired result?

So we have a big statue of Nelson Mandela at our parliament buildings in Pretoria. I think he and the statue is a wonderful thing. My question is posed to all the South African’s here in our own country and around the world. Will this inspire you to love your fellow country man as Nelson Mandela did? If we all spent more time loving one another there would be less corruptions, violence, hate, killing and need to steal or cause harm to another person. The world has raised Nelson Mandela up to the status of a saint or a God over this past weekend, and he has done a great deal of good, but he has also murdered people and is the first to claim that he is not special and is simply a man. that means that we can all attain this higher calling to be better people and love our fellow country men and country. But it does start with each one of us in our own hearts first. It does not start with the government or the banker or the taxi driver, no, it starts with all of us individually in our own hearts to show compassion to one another. Even if we get rid of all the crime or corruption in our country, if we do not have love for one another and our country, we will simply slide back into that state again. Yes, the batton has been handed to each one of us and we need to pick it up ourselves first and not wait for something or someone else to pick it up. You can be the difference and change in South Africa right from where you are. Yes, your voice can make a difference.

PS: Once you have picked up that batton and made a change in your heart, stick with it as Nelson Mandela and Jesus did. They did not give up at the first challenge that faced them, no they persevered.

@copelandnetwork. How’s your thought life?

This message has been the subject of many quiet times for me. Get a hold of this, it will rattle and shake you up, but if you take hold of this your life will start to excel!

Think on These Things

Kenneth Copeland

Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

- Philippians 4:8

When you begin to dwell on the Word of God, the first thing you discover is that the Word goes absolutely contrary to the way you’re accustomed to thinking. But the only way for the Word to abide in you is to choose it over your old, worldly thoughts.

Second Corinthians 10:4-6 calls those old thought patterns “strongholds” and lets us know we have to overthrow them with the Word of God.

How do you take your old thoughts captive and bring them into obedience to Jesus? By replacing them with His thoughts and His Words.

Once you understand that, you can see how we can have untroubled hearts…and think on the things of Philippians 4:8.

Think about this: God isn’t worried, is He? He isn’t afraid He’ll run out of money. He’s not filled with anxiety about your problems. No! He has the supply. He has more than enough power to get you through every circumstance in victory. So when you think His thoughts, you won’t be afraid either. You’ll be full of the peace of God Himself.

If you’re going to abide in the peace of God, if His Word is going to abide in you, you have to close the door to all other kinds of thought. You have to cast down every thought that disagrees with the Word and choose to think God’s thoughts instead. You literally have to select what your mind thinks.

You have to be like my daughter Kellie was years ago when she was a little girl. One day I took her by the hand, led her into her room, opened the door of her closet (which was piled full of junk) and said, “Kellie Dee Copeland, this closet of yours is a mess! Now you’re going to get in there and clean it up.”

She just looked up at me and said, “That’s not my thought.”

She resisted that thought. She wouldn’t accept it. I couldn’t figure out how to get that thought into her either. Even when she went ahead and cleaned up the closet, it wasn’t her thought. The only reason she did it was because her mother and dad made her.

That’s the way we need to treat the devil. When he comes around with a thought of anxiety or disaster, we just need to tell him, “That’s not my thought. I’m not touching that with my thought life.” Then we need to immediately replace that thought with a thought from the Word of God. We need to think on things that are just, pure, lovely, of good report, of virtue and praise.

@copelandnetwork It’s time for limitless…

What Time Is It?

Gloria Copeland

[God] is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

- Ephesians 3:20

If you’re a born-again child of God and you’ve been struggling financially, scraping along with just barely enough’it’s time for that to change. It’s time for you to wake up to the riches that belong to you in Jesus, kick the limits off your faith and receive your financial inheritance.

Even if you haven’t been struggling, even if your bills are paid and your major needs are met, you need to step up to greater abundance. We all need to do that, because God has more in store for every one of us than we possess right now. He is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

What’s more, we are now closer than ever to the end of the age. Jesus is coming soon. God is desiring to pour out His glory in greater measure than ever before, not just in our hearts, lives and church services, but in our finances as well.

Some time ago, the Lord began to speak to me about that. I began to hear, Do you know what time it is? It’s exceeding-abundantly-above-all-that-you-can-ask-or-think time!

I don’t mind telling you, I was thrilled when I heard those words! And I’ve become even more excited about them as time has passed. I believe it. I believe it with all my heart!

We are in the days of the end-time transfer of wealth about which the Bible speaks. In these days, God is teaching us how to draw great riches from our heavenly account so we can glorify Him and get the gospel preached to the world. He is revealing to us how we can have more than enough to give to every good work and have plenty left over to enjoy! He “giveth us richly all things to enjoy!” (1 Timothy 6:17).

So stand up and stretch your faith. Believe God for more than enough! Not just what you need today, but what the Church needs to minister life to the world. Remember what time it is. If you can think it, then it’s not “above all you can ask or think!” Think about that!

@Google are making robots to take over factory jobs….

It may not sound like it from the article, but yes, @Google are looking to create robots to improve manufacturing production. It all makes perfect sense, but what will happen to the global economy and the people who once were factory staff? Obviously there will be new a careers created and new types of jobs developed over time to help balance out the scales. Maybe its time to start learning a new skill to keep fresh and ready for this move.
