SA 3D printing is leading the world?

It always amazes me how many innovations come out of my country. The challenge however is always that we are not able to,commercialize it and then, sell it off. Now we are playing a new game and that changes the whole thing. This article is incredible. 3D printing is the wave of the future and by the looks of it South Africa is going to be the major player.

@Eskom_SA top execs quit, consumer still get increases, the government…we deserve better!

So if the top brass are jumping ship surely there should be something wrong? However in the midst of it all there is a darker cloud ti seems. The government has chosen to propose a bail out plan that includes huge amounts of money and consumer price increases. Isn’t it strange that soon after this took place two top execs leave the company? It seems to me that there are some fires going on that we are not being given full information of.

Why are we still sitting on this massive price increase issue when government is spending billions on arms deals and other areas when our country is having problems with funding. I am asking our leaders why not put first things first. There are crime, cable theft, water, sewage and power problems that are not being dealt with now. If we as a country do not stop our stupid personal in fighting and power struggle with each other we will have a country that is driven into nothing simply because of our own personal agenda.

Yes, the ANC is the big dog! Who cares! If our country is in darkness because there is no power or because there are no jobs what does that say for the ANC leaders then? The DA are shooting their mouths off about anything the ANC says, it’s like a school yard fight and the ANC is the big bully pulling on the DA pig tails and the EFF are the yapping dog at the heels. What a joke, South Africa deserve better! Get over yourselves and start addressing the real problems, your country is starting to fail and what was once the leading country in Africa is no longer leading simply because of bureaucracy and personal gain. We need state’s men, leaders of good character who get things done instead of talk about it. Leaders who stop thinking about their own gain but instead look at the country as a whole and benefit it’s people. Not one of our country’s leaders do this! It’s time to pull up your sleeves and get your hands dirty and finish the job.

  • If the top two tiers of our country leaders had to give up 10% of their incomes this year, we could possibly build nearly 1000 RDP homes.

  • If we cancel all our deals that do not build our country (IE the arms deals) this year we could place enough money to develop a new power plant.

  • If we re align our spending and cut our capital expenditure by reducing and selling ALL government vehicle and replacing them with a simple mid sized vehicle like a locally made proudly South African manufactured vehicle like a Toyota Corrolla or VW Jetta, we could assign enough money to build 100’s of school rooms.

  • If ALL party and voting campaign money is stopped with immediate effect and is assigned to teaching the teachers in our rural communities we could produce better education for children within the next 3 years.

  • If all the money spent on court hearings for government officials was stopped and they paid their own court costs, we would have enough to provide internet connectivity that has proven statistically to increase the GDP of a country as well as reduce health problems.

I am asking the leaders of our country to stop the bickering and stupidity, get your heads in the right place and start changing our countries plans to align with the needs of the people and of the land. I have not yet spoken about the problems we have with crime. The reports you are seeing right now are false. They are not even showing a true reflection of the numbers in our communities. Until the stolen goods market is squashed, we will have an ever increasing rate of crime.

It’s time for a change and it is not going to be a DA or ANC or EFF, it’s going to come from the people and the leaders will be left aside with nothing if they do not join together to find solutions and put aside their differences, we are South Africa and we deserve better! Let’s make a difference in our country today!

@Vodacom show off 4g speeds of 270MB/second but government stand in the way….

This is a HUGE step for unwired solutions that would avoid theft of cables, but government stands I the way. Why? It seems to be that they want power to look bigger than everyone else, isn’t that the same as apartheid?

Ahrlac: SA-made military plane takes flight | TechCentral

I am not one for military anything but this plane has got so many amazing things going for it, not just in the design or flying but in the manufacturing, dynamic makeup and maintenance. This team made something simple and easy to work with out of technology and looking at things with a view to the whole solution rather than just a part. Fantastic we need more teams like this in South Africa. Now I hope the team remains proudly South African!

Altech Node: VOD on steroids!

The price may stop a person, but Altron have packed into this machine everything from streaming, VOD, internet all the way to daily payments and even more apps. This is all not through the mine field of Telkom but rather through the power and speed of satellite. This is going to be a real game player.

Who stole the Batmobile??????????

Sometimes the movie guys have actually got a sense of humour. Here are two great movies colliding in a funny way. It’s simple, the rumour started with the DC movie Batman vs Superman where they apparently reported the Batmobile missing. Later on @ZackSnyder who is directing the new StarWars movie decided to get in on the act with a Tweet of two cops catching the culprit who stole the Batmobile allegedly. Check out the picture.

44 hours to create and drive a 3D printed car?

Okay I know that 3D printing is rapidly advancing, but this one is mind boggling. They printed and drove this 3D printed car at an auto show which only took 44 hours! hat is insanely fast. Now, it may not be a Porsche or a VW, but man this could solve a lot of emission problems and reduce prices rapidly.

TechCentral Lumia 930 review by @Regardt on @TechCentral…

So Regardt van der Berg (@Regardt) did a review of the Nokia Lumia 930 and it was not a bad review and I always enjoy his writing, but there is one MAJOR thing I do not like about tech reviews of the Windows Phone OS devices. Here is my comment which I placed on the site and I encourage you all to add your comments too.

http://ift.tt/1o2nezb

I am a WP owner and I am tired of the stupid app support argument. I have never been lacking in a need for an app. The average user needs a small number of apps and those are already on WP or have better alternatives already on the platform. So when I read an article by some tech guru site the first thing that they mention is how bad the app support is when they have never actually used the environment as an average user. Journalism is supposed to be about the people you are writing for? Well go and take a look at what apps the average user actually uses practically, and lets not look at how many games they use, but I am talking about apps that are valuable and used daily to function. WP has them all and is more than capable of keeping up with the others. I have been using WP8.1 and all the new updates have made this phone in some cases better than the others. Take Cortana, what fun and so quick to understand me. I have all the apps I need and the integration of social media into the phone is far better than the others. Much simpler and faster for us the average daily users. Why not write a review based on the average user next time instead of dissing a system based on the tech know how?

Just to add to the previous point, we are moving forward in technology not backwards. It seems to me that our devices are getting dumber and dumber and people are relying more and more on APPS. WP8.1 is one of the few that still integrate the phone with more than just a bunch of apps. We need devices that are smarter and work for us, not a bunch of apps that do not work together and that do not communicate with each other. We need devices that work with our lives not against it. WP is doing this very well and offers some simpler more fluid ways of doing this.

Regardt van der Berg why not write an article on what apps the average user is actually using on a daily basis. Then once you have got a list of around 1000 users from all walks of life, take that list and then do your phone reviews on how those apps work for those users and which phone best suites those users needs. This could mean that the iPhone might be great for some some apps and certain ways of doing things, while Android may have better ways of doing the nitty gritty and the WP might be better at the general social and photo type apps. This will then give users a true view of what the value of a phone is rather than the sales pitch and the usual tech geek view of a phone. We may be surprised to find that some apps work better on one OS that we were not expecting and others we were. I know that you have to do those bread and butter reviews, but man this would be a real life review that people could actually use. Just a thought!

PS: TechCentral Rocks!
